Etymology
From Pali pallaṅka (“couch; sofa”); probably via Old Khmer °pallaṅa, pālaṃṅa (“throne”). Compare Modern Khmer បល្លង្ក (bɑɑllɔɔngkɑɑ), បល្ល័ង្ក (bɑɑllĕəngkɑɑ); Sanskrit पल्यङ्क (palyaṅka), पर्यङ्क (paryaṅka).
