From Hindustani तन्दूर (tandūr) / تندور‎ (tandūr), from Persian تنور‎ (tanur), from Middle Persian tnwl (tanūr, “oven”), ultimately from Akkadian 𒋾𒂟 (tinūru), all meaning oven.
