ขอบ (kɔ̀ɔp, “to acknowledge”) +‎ พระคุณ (prá-kun), from พระ (prá, “honorific”, literally “divine; excellent; holy; sacred; etc”) +‎ คุณ (kun, “excellence, goodness; favour, kindness; etc”).

Used to thank a person of equal or higher status, signifying great respect.
More formality may be added to the term by prefixing กราบ (gràap) or น้อม (nɔ́ɔm) to it as กราบ ขอบพระคุณ (gràap-kɔ̀ɔp-prá-kun) or น้อม ขอบพระคุณ (nɔ́ɔm-kɔ̀ɔp-prá-kun)
