(Short) history
- Pertydeus was created by André & Naudo (1965) as subgenus of Tydeus. The subgenus accommodated two species: Tydeus schusteri and Tydeus tridactylus. The subgenus was used but disputed by Baker (1970: 164), and is not listed by Silva et al. (2016).
- The three component species are now in the genus Brachytydeus.
