A z- prefixed form of varrë, from Proto-Albanian *varsa, from Proto-Indo-European *u̯ers (to drag on the ground). Compare Hittite u̯arš (pluck, reap), Ancient Greek ἔρρω (érrhō, go away, disappear), Latin verro (to drag, to sweep), Old Norse vǫrr (stroke), Latvian vârsms (heap of corn, grain)[1].
