Cognate with Old Saxon wagan (Low German Wagen), Old Frisian wein (West Frisian wein), Dutch wagen, Old High German wagan (German Wagen), Old Norse vagn (Danish/Norwegian vogn, Swedish vagn). The Indo-European root is also the source of way and weigh.
