  • The usual construction is tenir compte (+de). Tenir en compte usually appears when the object of tenir compte is moved out of the clause: Il y a beaucoup de chose à tenir en compte, Le prix était connu, mais n'a pas été tenu en compte (more traditional construction would be, respectively dont il faut tenir compte and mais il n'en a pas été tenu compte).
