From Old French fueille, from Late Latin folia, plural of folium in Classical Latin, itself probably ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *bʰolh₃yom (“leaf”), from *bʰleh₃- (“blossom, flower”). See also folio, which was borrowed from the Latin.
