Etymology
With the addition of a prefix en-, from a supposed original Old Spanish form *exalbegar (attested later in various altered forms such as axalvegar, jalbegar, xabelgar, etc.), from a Vulgar Latin *exalbicāre, from Latin albus[1][2].

Conjugation
- Rule: g becomes a gu before e.
- 1 Mostly obsolete form, now mainly used in legal jargon.
