From Proto-Albanian *den(i)-, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰew- (to run, flow). Cognate to Sanskrit धन्वन् (dhánvan-, desert, arid land, steppe), Ancient Greek θέω (théō, run, verb) and Old English dēaw (dew)[1].
