Etymology

From Russian -ша (-ša), an ending of Russian diminutives of personal names (male and female: Паша (Paša), Саша (Saša), Миша (Miša) etc; by analogy with -njo.

    Johano (“John”) → Joĉjo (“Johnny”)
    Miĥaelo (“Michael”) → Miĉjo (“Mike”)
    patro (“father”) → paĉjo (“daddy”)
