- the legendary sacred bird, also known as Sino-Korean 봉 (Bong) and Chinese 鳳 (Feng), which in turn are more often than not identified with the Occidental mythological sacred firebird, Egyptian Bennu or Phoenican Phoenix. The ancient Korean firebird, 삼족오 (三足烏, samjogo, “tripod raven”) was related as follows:
