Pronunciation
Noun

An antique guqin in the lianzhu form
古琴
Usage notes
- In the past, the 古琴 was referred to only as 琴 (qín), but it now has the prefix 古- (“ancient”) to distinguish it from other instruments which also use the word 琴 (qín). The 古琴 may be referred to as 琴 (qín) after the first mention of 古琴.
- It is sometimes confused with the guzheng (古箏/古筝) which is a different stringed instrument.
Synonyms
- 琴 (qín)
- 七絃琴, 七弦琴 (qīxiánqín)
