From Sauraseni Prakrit [Term?], from Sanskrit सार्ध (sārdha, “plus a half”), a compound of स (sa, “with”) and अर्ध (ardha, “half”). Compare Nepali साढे (sāḍhe), Punjabi ਸਾਢੇ (sāḍhe), Gujarati સાડા (sāḍā), Marathi साडे (sāḍe).
