Probably of the same Proto-Indo-European origin as մեղ (meł).

մոլիմ (molim)

  1. (intransitive) to become mad, to lose one's senses; to be in a passion, enraged; to be extravagantly fond of, to fall violently in love with, to be passionately in love
    մոլել զհետmolel zhetto bend one's whole soul to, to apply oneself entirely to, to dote upon, to be distracted with
    մոլիս, Պաւ՛ղէmolis, PaẃłēPaul, thou art beside thyself
  2. (intransitive) to divine, to prophesy (referring to the ecstatic fury of the sorcerer or the prophet)
