From Proto-Albanian *dźārnā with long *ā < *ē, from Proto-Indo-European *gwher- (“to swallow”). Close to Lithuanian žarnà (“gut”), Latvian zarna (“intestines”), Old Norse gǫrn (“gut”)[1].
