From Old English tōmorgen, tō morgenne (“tomorrow”), from tō (“at, on”) + morgene, mergen (dative of morgen (“morning”)), from Proto-Germanic *murganaz (“morning”), perhaps, from Proto-Indo-European *mergʰ- (“to blink, to twinkle”). Doublet of tomorn.
