Etymology

Either from Proto-Albanian *iš-perakskā, related to eh (“to sharpen”), with a similar sense development in Latin exprimō and Proto-Slavic *vyraziti,[1] or from Proto-Albanian *spregska, an inchoative in -sḱ- from Proto-Indo-European *spreg- (“to make a sound, utter, speak”) (cf. Old High German sprehhan, Old English sprecan (“to speak”)).
