Hungarian
Etymology
pince (“cellar”) + -ér (“occupation suffix”). Created during the Hungarian language reform which took place in the 18th–19th centuries, patterned after the German Kellner (“waiter”), itself based on the Medieval Latin cellenārius (“cellarman”). Compare other occupations with the -ár / -ér suffix: kádár (“cooper”), böllér (“butcher, pig-slaugherman”), pintér (“cooper”).[1]
