colletor (plural colletors)

  1. (botany) A multicellular trichome of a leaf or bud scale that produces a sticky secretion; a group or tuft of mucilaginous secretory hairs, usually found near the base of the leaf lamina and on the calyx.
    Colletors are found in members of the Apocynaceae and Asclepiadaceae families.
