blândă
Romanian
Etymology
Probably from the adjective blând (as in boală blândă ("mild illness/disease/condition")) or alternatively from a Slavic blǫdi, in which case it would be a doublet of bolând, from Hungarian. Cf. Ruthenian blynda, Serbo-Croatian blanda, Bulgarian blŭnda (blŭnda), which are often thought to derive from Romanian. Compare also the Aromanian cognate blãndã.
Noun
blândă f (plural blânde)
