bezmetic
Romanian
Etymology
Probably from Slavic bezumŭ, compare Ukrainian безматок (bezmatok, “hive without a queen”). Another proposed etymology is from Vulgar Latin amphisbeticus, from Ancient Greek ἀμφισβητικός (amphisbētikós, “fond of disputing, contentious”) (compare Italian bisbetico). Compare also the variant dezmetic, possibly influenced by or related to the verb desmetici.[1]
