From Proto-Albanian *aśt-, from Proto-Indo-European *h2ost(h2-), from root *h2st(h2-) (“bone”). Cognate to Sanskrit अस्थि (ásthi-, “bone”). Singular of a more used form eshtra (“bones, relics”)[1].
