Etymology
From Esperanto -ujo, from French étui, German Etui. Also considered a back-formation from etuyo.[1] Also paronym to etuyo.

- suffix used with a nominal root to denote a receptacle, ordinarily a case, box, chest or sheath
Usage notes
Distinguish -uyo from -iero: sigaruyo = a case for cigars; sigariero = a short tube for smoking a cigar.
