From Classical Mongolian ᠰᠠᠭ (sag), borrowed from Turkic, originally a combination of a desiderative verb suffix *-sa- and *-k. Compare Karakhanid اَرسَك‎ (erseg, “nymphomaniac”) and Mongolian эрсэг (erseg, “nymphomaniac”).
