ἄτρακτος
Ancient Greek
Etymology
Has been derived from Proto-Indo-European *terkʷ-, with cognates including Sanskrit तर्कु (tarku) and Latin torqueō. However, there are some problems with these connections, such as expecting a π (p) instead of κ (k) from *kʷ.
