Borrowed from Sanskrit परिपूरण (paripūraṇa, “accomplishing; perfecting; rendering complete”); perhaps via Old Khmer *paripūrṇa, paripūrṇna, paripūra, parihaʼapanā, parapurṇa, parapūrna, parapūra, parapū, pararpū (“complete; entire; full; whole; perfect; etc”); equal to Thai บริ (brì) + บูรณ์. Cognate with Modern Khmer បរិបូណ៌, បរិបូរ (bɑɑribou).
