Usage note

Like other Assamese kinship nouns, বাই (bai) uses the -এক (-ek) suffix for 3rd person. 2nd person can use the -এৰে (-ere) suffix for contemptuous manner. For example,

মোৰ বাই ― mür bai ― My sister
আপোনাৰ বাই ― apünar bai ― Your sister
তোৰ বায়েৰে ― tür bayere ― Your sister
