Etymology

From Sanskrit *উৎশ্ৱাস (utśvāsa), from Proto-Indo-European *ḱʷes- (to pant, puff, sigh).

    পাৱে উশাস তেজ বহে নাকে মুখে
    নমৰিল কথমপি জীল বৰ দুখে
    nopawe uśaso tejo bohe nake mukhe .
    nomorilo kothomopi jīlo boro dukhe .
    Blood flows on the face and nose because it could not breathe,
    although it did not die somehow, it lived the rest of its life in pain.
