Compare Avestan 𐬌𐬙𐬈𐬫𐬀𐬥 (nayeti, “to bring, lead”), Old Persian 𐎠𐎴𐎹 (anaya, “he was leading, bringing”), Middle Persian [script needed] (nītan, “to lead, drive”), Hittite 𒈾𒄿𒉈 (nāine, “to guide”).
