տրամ
Old Armenian
Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *dru-rā-mo (“firm, solid”), which is related to *dóru (“tree”). Cognate with Proto-Germanic *trumaz (“firm, strong”), Ancient Greek δροόν (droón, “strong, mighty”), Latin dūrus (“hard, rough”).[1][2]
Adjective
տրամ • (tram)
Usage notes
The Hellenizing School used this as a prefix corresponding to Ancient Greek δια- (dia-), e.g. տրամաբան (tramaban) = διάλογος (diálogos), տրամադրեմ (tramadrem) = διατίθημι (diatíthēmi).
