Etymology

Since Müller connected with Sanskrit विष्टि (viṣṭi), विष्टी (viṣṭī, “forced service, compulsory work”) and considered an Iranian borrowing. Compare Khotanese [script needed] (āviṣṭa-, “troubled”), Sogdian [script needed] (ʾʾwyštk, “confused”).
