Etymology
Ačaṙean considers this a Northeast Caucasian borrowing: compare Udi моцӏакӏ (moc̣aḳ), dialectal Avar мучак (mučak), Lezgi мичек (miček), Budukh мичек (miček), Lak мичӏак (mič̣ak, “mosquito”), Khinalug мичаьг (mičäg, “fly”).[1]
