σάκος

Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *twek- (“shield, skin; to cover”). Cognate with Sanskrit त्वच् (tvac, “hide, bag”), Hittite [script needed] (tuekkaš, “body”).
Alternatively, Beekes suggests a Semitic origin, from the same root as σάκκος (sákkos, “sack”).
