Holotype: RMNH PBI_OON 00031918, male, 7-11 August 1981.
Type locality: Sri Lanka: Kandy, about 600 m, forest and waterworks.
Etymology: The species epithet refers to the town Kandy in Sri Lanka which is the type locality.
