Note: Endress et al. (2014) and Liede-Schumann et al. (2012) proposed subsuming all of the above genera into Vincetoxicum s.l., except Merrillanthus Chun & Tsiang, Sunyatsenia 6: 105, f. 5, t. 17–18 (1941), Pentastelma Tsiang & P.T. Li in Chun & al., Fl. Hainan. 3: 577 (1974) and Pentatropis R. Br. ex Wight & Arn. in Wight, Contr. Bot. India: 52 (1834). The required formal transfers have now been made (Liede-Schumann & Meve, 2018) resulting in a monotypic tribe, however this circumscription should remain until consensus has been achieved.
