Name

Holotype: MRAC A5-036-P-001. Paratypes: AMNH 239965 [ex MRAC 99-055-P-1355-1358] (4); MRAC A5-36-P-0002-0003 (2), 91-79-P-326-330 (5), 99-055-P-1347-1354 (8).

Type locality: Republic of Congo, Nyanga River basin, Doutsila River at Bihongo, 2°48.312'S, 11°45.970'E.

Etymology: The species is named after the Punu people living in the Ngounié, the Nyanga (southern Gabon) and the Niari provinces (Republic of Congo), which is approximately the area where the species was collected. The species is dedicated to the Punu people for their help during collecting in the area and in gratitude for their hospitality.
