Type locality: freshwater swamp of Begumgonj, 22°55′N, 90°58′E , Noakhali, Bangladesh.

Etymology: The specific epithet meni is the name of this species in the local dialect of Noakhali, from where the samples were collected. Meni means an unsuspecting silence character.
