- Type locality: 'Erua, at an elevation of about 2,500 ft. Three were found by myself in January, 1910, and two by Mr. W. J. Guinness, railway stationmaster, in March, all amongst decaying leaves on the ground. Another was found near the base of Mount Ngauruhoe by Mr. Guinness; and one taken previously by myself at Raurimu, elevation 1,900 ft., has more strongly sculptured elytra than the others'
