Type genus: Miconia, Ruiz & Pav. Fl. Peruv. Prodr. 60. (1794) nom. cons.

Note: It is proposed that this tribe now be recognised as monogeneric with the type genus conserved over earlier names (Michelangeli et al., 2016). However, all changes have been formally completed and will be implemented once evaluated (Michelangeli et al., 2019).
