Type locality: "Angi Lakes (6000 feet) in the Arfak Mountains,...Mt. Koebré (8000 feet) in the same mountains", Vogelkop Peninsula, Papua (New Guinea), Indonesia.
Syntypes: BM 1947.2.24.6(formerly 1915.9.10.15) and 1947.2.30.95-98 (formerly 1915.9.10.11014).
