- Authority for placement: Marshall, 1952: 267 ('Icmalius abnormis Broun (1886) is synonymous with Ancistropterus helmsi Sharp (Nov. 1886). The precise date of Broun's publication is not known, but the preface to it by Dr. James Hector is dated April, and the part was received at the British Museum on 20th Oct. 1886. The name of the species will therefore stand as Icmalius abnormis')
