Type locality: "S. Agnés" (= Santa Inês [= Fazenda St. Agnes]), Bahia, Brazil.
Holotype: Not designated, although presumably including animal figured in pl. 42, fig. 1-2 of Wied-Neuwied, 1824, Abbild. Naturgesch. Brasil., Heft 7.
