  • Type species:  Heterosmilax japonica Kunth, Enum. Pl. 5: 270 (1850) However, this species is now accepted as a synonym of Smilax bockii Warb., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 29: 259 (1900), therefore typus non designatus
