Holotype: MHNG PBI_OON 00031319, male, 17-18 February 2000, leg. P. Schwendinger.
Type locality: Indonesia: Sumatra: Jambi Province: Mount Kerinci, footpath to summit, W of Kersik Tua, 2160 m, evergreen hill forest.
Etymology: The species epithet refers to the first part of the name of the Mount Kerinci in Sumatra which is the species' type locality.
