Type locality: Solomon Islands. SALOMON 1, Stn DW1854, 9°46.4'S, 160°52.9'E, 229–260 m.
Etymology: named after Shane T. Ahyong, for his major contributions to Anomuran systematics and decapod crustacean phylogeny.
