Euops aculeatus Riedel, 1999: 102.

Type locality: Papua New Guinea, Enga Prov., Kepilam [19 km SE Laiagem], 2420-2540 m.

Holotype: BPBM , ♂, 21.VI.1963, leg. J.Sedlacek.

Etymology: This epithet is based on the Latin adjective aculeatus (spiny) and refers to both the long humeral spines and the armature of the male profemur.
