  • Type locality: DSDP Site 254 (30°58.15'S 87°53.72'E), core 1, section 2, interval 20-26 cm, present day water depth 1253 m, southern limit of Ninetyeast Ridge, East Indian Ocean.
  • Type horizon: Pleistocene.
