Type locality: "Upper reaches of Quebrada San Antonio, SW side Cerro del Nylon, 1310 m, Sierra de Espíritu Santo, Municipio Los Amates, Izabal, Guatemala. This site lies in Premontane Wet Forest at about 15° 12´ 33 N, 88° 53´ 47 W."
Holotype: UTA A-33702.
