Type locality: Ssaman-Shahi mountains in East Persia(= eastern Iran). [Ssaman Shakhi Mountains near Birjand, South Khorasan Province, Iran, 32.8266 N 59.2146 E]
Lectotype: ZISP 1952.1 female ♀. 29.IV.1896. legit N.A. Zarudny. (lectotype Bufo oblongus designated by Stöck et al. 2001)
